Somewhere in
Germany

Page 3

This page is dedicated to Anna Reinoehl of Fahrenzhausen Germany.  There she waited 5 long years after war for Paul. She did not know what had prevented him from coming back for her. It broke her heart when she finally give up and married a Hungarian man who would be good to her for the rest of her life.  Would she ever know the truth of why Paul never came back?
These are photos of Anna when she was younger with her family, and then much later when she was approximately 78 years old. This is the first picture we saw of Anna after we found her and her family from writing to Germany and searching for her to see if she was alive after all these years.  60 years had passed since Paul had left Fahrenzhausen, but Anna still lived there!
This Photo is Anna with Han's her husband,  when she was 21 years old, five years after Paul left Fahrenzhausen.  She waited on Paul for such a long time in the aftermath of war.  She then married Han's, a Hungarian man who was the second great love of her life.  Anna died January 3, 2010 when she was approx. 84 years old.  In Germany, it is a tradition when someone dies, you send something with them to the grave that was the most significant things in their lives.  Two things were placed in Anna's coffin before burial.  The last piece of Jewelry that her husband gave her, and a memento from the old family Farmhouse in Chatsworth Georgia-that we carried to Germany for her to have, which completed the circle from Germany, to America and then back again.  It was a very moving gesture on her husbands part-that he done this, for it was his decision.  We were so grateful and knew that even he knew how much Anna and Paul had loved each other, and when we met him in September of 2010, we let him know how much we appreciated and thought of him-like family, also.  I will never forget the moment that Han's, Anna's husband and I said goodbye after our visit.  We held on to each other, after hugs as I walked him out of the house we still held on to each other, with our hands, and I saw his eyes and knew- he might never see me again, but the look he had told me how much all this meant to him as well. That moment is forever burned into my memory.  I will continue to write him, but he is an older man and I know as well, I might never get to see him again also.
